A Lifesaving Network In Symposium
At the symposium, Milan Krečković, the Coordinator of the Lifesaving Network and Head of Navissos, delivered a compelling presentation titled “A Lifesaving Network for Saving Lives in Europe through Lifesaving Sport.” His talk shed light on the vital role of lifesaving sports in promoting water safety and preventing drownings across Europe.
Krečković began by emphasizing the Lifesaving Network's mission: to create a safer aquatic environment through education and the promotion of lifesaving sports. He highlighted how the network aims to reduce drowning incidents by increasing awareness and providing essential water safety training to communities.
A key part of Krečković's presentation focused on the collaborative nature of the Lifesaving Network. He explained how organizations from various European countries are working together to form a robust support system. This collaboration allows for the sharing of best practices and resources, which is crucial in developing effective water safety strategies and lifesaving sport programs.
Krečković also spoke about the significant impact of lifesaving sports. He described how these sports serve not only as a means of physical fitness but also as an educational tool. Lifesaving sports teach vital rescue skills, enhance physical endurance, and foster a culture of safety and preparedness. By engaging in these activities, individuals are better equipped to handle emergencies in aquatic environments.
