Welcome to the Lifesaving Network, an international collaborative force championing the prevention of drowning and promoting the life-affirming sport of lifesaving.

Here, we converge on a single mission: To end the tragic and preventable loss of life in the waters of our world. Every year, hundreds of thousands of lives are claimed by drowning - an overlooked crisis that we are dedicated to combating.

Our network, endorsed by the ERASMUS-SPORT-2022-SSCP and funded by the European Union, brings together organizations from across Europe - each sharing the common goal of enhancing aquatic safety. We're driven by the belief that every life is precious and that every drowning is preventable.

Through education, training, and community engagement, we aim to raise awareness about the dangers of water and teach vital lifesaving skills. Our partners from Greece, Slovenia, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Turkey are all committed to nurturing a culture of water safety and lifesaving sport that crosses borders and saves lives.

The Reasons

In a world where water-related activities are integral to our leisure and daily lives, the importance of a project like the Lifesaving Network cannot be overstated. Drowning remains one of the most prevalent causes of accidental death globally, and yet it is preventable. Through education, skill development, and community engagement, projects like the Lifesaving Network play a critical role in transforming society's approach to water safety.

The Lifesaving Network serves as a beacon, bringing together resources, expertise, and a collective passion for reducing these tragedies. It represents a concerted effort to shift the narrative from reactive responses to proactive prevention. By building a culture of water safety and respect, we not only save lives but also create a legacy of awareness and preparedness that will benefit future generations.
